Welcome.

If you have found yourself here, you or someone you know may be experiencing a difficult time in their life. You may be looking for information to explain how you are feeling or looking for a way to get help. I specialize in working with women who are pregnant, postpartum, or struggling with perinatal loss. This time in women’s lives is ripe for unique changes and requires a unique understanding.

You are not alone

Seeing images of postpartum bliss and joy at every turn of the channel or click on the internet can leave you feeling like something is wrong with you when this isn’t your experience. Where are the images of the sleep-deprived mother exhausted by new responsibilities, hormonal changes, breastfeeding difficulties, and an uncooperative body that just can’t get back into shape? It can be devastating or confusing to not simply be experiencing the joy and connection you imagined, and to instead be flooded with postpartum reactions such as guilt, anxiety, depression, tearfulness, irritability, or intrusive, repetitive thoughts. If you relate to any of this know that YOU ARE NOT ALONE! 20% of mothers experience Postpartum Depression or Anxiety. Support is available.

Our Bodies
hold the key to our healing...

...yet when we have been traumatized or are going through hard times in our lives we can feel cut off from its wisdom. Instead we live in our heads which can be a breeding ground for negative thoughts and worry and feel stuck in unhealthy patterns. By learning to inhabit our bodies again and listen to its often subtle messages, we can regain our balance and resiliency.

We are

Incredibly resilient

While Perinatal Mental Health is my specialty I have experience working with a variety of mental health concerns. My passion is walking with people through their healing process, exploring the stuck parts of themselves, expounding upon the often subtle shifts and inner callings, and normalizing and transforming the “funk” that comes with too much change. Thankfully, we are incredibly resilient as human beings and have the capacity to make positive changes that can impact our lives and those around us.

TAKE BACK

YOUR LIFE.

My therapeutic approach goes beyond traditional talk therapy because listening to your body and learning its language will ultimately bring you the peace of mind you are craving. While I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Psychodynamic Therapy, the core of my work is somatic and draws on my training in the Trauma Resiliency Model. I also thread in my interest in Attachment Theory as it relates to adult relationships, the Enneagram, Internal Family Systems, and Mindfulness.  If you have found that analyzing your situation over and over is getting you nowhere, somatic work might be your next step.
